I wanted to share some deep insights I tapped into yesterday during a convo with a close friend and fellow entrepreneur on a (fairly new) path of intensive alignment with her true self.

If you will indulge me for a moment, let’s do this as a game. It’s designed to help you have more of what you want, so roll with me here. It’s quick and easy.

I want you to think for a moment about where you are now and where you want to be instead. Really tap into the divide between those two things. Feel it.

Feel yourself inside your body for a moment. And feel how that divide feels in your body:

“I’m here but I want to be THERE”.

I want to be more fit and energized.
I want to scale my company.
I want to sell my company so I’m free to travel, teach + talk on stages.
I want to have a bigger social media presence.
I want to write that book and do a tour.
I want to be based in L.A., Cali ….or perhaps Phuket, Thailand.
I want a romantic partner who supports my growth + happiness.
I want more time to enjoy my life and business.
I want to feel less anxious and more excited.

I want. I want. I want…. but I’m not or I don’t have.

Of course it’s exciting to lean into these desires, and these are all perfectly good things to want and create. I spent six months building my Vision Statement Tool to help you create those things much faster. So obvs I’m a fan of creating stuff.

The problem isn’t the wanting. It’s the emotional anchor underneath the wanting. We wanna look at that.

So right now, lean into the NOT having aspect for a moment.

See if you can find that and feel it.

That’s the game we’re playing.

Close your eyes for a moment and feel the gap between where you are and where you think you should be. Notice any thoughts that come up, but stay focused on how it feels in your body.

When you feel where that is in your body, pinpoint it. Even put your finger on it.

Then take a long, slow breath into that area. And let it out real slow. Now do that again. Long breath in. Breathe out slow.

What we are doing is beginning to find and clear the emotional anchors that underlie that divide.

That feeling of “I’m here but I want to be there” can be very motivating, but it can also block you from having the very things you want most.

It’s lack. It’s scarcity. It’s also a massive misunderstanding of how Life works, and what leads to happiness and success.

There’s a huge misconception that we are all going somewhere; we need to get from here…to there. So we never feel “enough”.

It’s okay to want new experiences. We are here to create and enjoy creating.

But the truth is you will never actually arrive. If you think you NEED to get somewhere else, you will spend your whole life chasing something that cannot be found anywhere but right here, right now.

This moment is a once in a lifetime experience full of miracles you’re not appreciating, because you’re focused on some imagined ideal future.

When you learn how to stop chasing and start being, that is when you can begin to experience peace.

That is also when you can hear the whispers of your soul. You become aligned with who you are (instead of who you think you need to be)

How does this look?

Think about where you’re wanting to go, what you’re wanting to experience.

Ask yourself: “What do I think that experience will make me feel, that I don’t feel right now?”

“And what am I feeling about where I am and how things are going for me right now?”

Breathe into that too.

Whatever you’re feeling, allow yourself to feel it with no judgements or opinions. Don’t slap affirmations on it. Don’t try to “fix” it. Because then those underlying emotional anchors I mentioned earlier will stay in place and hold you back from experiencing what you want.

There is a somatic (body) component to these things that cannot be ignored if you want to live your highest potential and enjoy it.

Those emotional anchors are like rocks in your River of higher possibilities. They need to be felt, processed and integrated. Then they dissolve. And your river just flows. Magic shit happens.

So create a space for this moment to exist as it is. Some traditions call this state “surrender”. It’s the most powerful state you can learn how to embrace. And it will put you directly in a state of flow. A state of grace.

The funny thing–the biggest joke of Life–is that when you stop chasing and start being, your highest possibilities will reveal themselves to you and naturally flow into your life.

I know this can change the game of Life for you today and every day if you really take it in.

This moment is a once in a lifetime experience full of miracles you’re not appreciating, because you’re focused on some imagined ideal future.

When you learn how to stop chasing and start being, that is when you can begin to experience peace.

I love impact just as much as you do. I love creating. And that’s what we are here to do together. Share who we are and what we know in a way that uplifts others.

But never forget that you will not feel happier when you arrive somewhere else or create something else. That’s just for fun. As Timothy Findley said: “Now and now again and nothing more.”

This moment is a one of kind experience that will never happen again. Be sure to be fully here for it. Or you might get to the end of the game and wonder …WTF happened?
