I’ve been continuing to go ever deeper into my own truth for the past few weeks, and incorporating that into my work—and one of the things I realized is that, at my core, there is this deeply driven trailblazing soul who loves having an impact on the world around me, but…just gets a little scared and self doubting sometimes.

Can you relate?

This may seem strange, because my website is plastered with testimonials from people I’ve helped to overcome self-doubt to become successful. But the thing about committing to fully aligning with your Self is that you’re always expanding, so the self-doubt never completely goes away. You’re always breaking through new “upper limits” and you will always need help and support to do that successfully.

But why am I so uniquely great at helping others align with their True Self? Because I know exactly what it feels like to NOT be aligned with your True Self—all the frustration, confusion and struggle of that—so I spent decades researching and developing tools that would give me a shortcut to that for my self. Once I found the shortcut, I began teaching it to others, and the next thing I knew I had a business.

No, I’m not trying to pitch myself to you…I’m making a point that will help you more deeply understand your own purpose and possible best business and whatnot.

Most people, when they set out to create their business, try to monetize their passion. Or, worse, they try to figure out what other people want and need, and give it to them.

But, if you know maverick millionaire entrepreneur, and TED Talks master, Derek Sivers, his proven, successful model for starting businesses is simply this: get serious about solving your own problems then share those solutions with others.

This aligns with my own understanding of how life works from a higher perspective. You are here to learn one key lesson. Once you learn it, your job is to share the benefits of what you learned with others.

That’s what we call a “life purpose”.

Part of this is that whatever it is we want most is exactly what we need to learn how to create for others. This is a win-win-win situation, because not only do we get what we want along the way, but we also integrate that deeply by teaching it to others, AND we help others get what they want as well.

You should certainly integrate your passions, skills and special abilities into this, but don’t build your business or dream life on those alone.

Keep thinking about what problems you want solved for yourself. Solve them. Then share what you learned with others.

Next week I have a great post for you on the daily rituals, practices and tools we need to shore us up when we feel hobbled by self doubt, so we can get on with our trailblazing goodness.

Until then, I’m sending you lots of love, good juju, motivation, inspiration and proper pastries made the old fashioned way (because…that what I want! See how it works?!).

Rise up and shine as your True Self,
Shawn xo
